Frequently Asked Questions
You are on the Afiniii website.
Updated: 01-01-2025
1. The app is not displaying my contacts.
When you create your first group, Afiniii will ask for permission to access your phone contacts. Be sure to select "Full Access." If you chose "Limited Access" or "None," you can update this by going to Settings > Apps > Afiniii > Contacts and selecting "Full Access." Afiniii never shares or sells your data—including your contacts, requests, replies, or profile information—and we never will.
2. The app failed to send a request to one of my contacts.
Chances are the phone number listed for that contact is either a landline or out of service. To resolve this, update the correct phone number in your phone contacts, restart the Afiniii app, and resend the request.

What is Afiniii?
Afiniii is a mobile app that allows users to effortlessly request advice, recommendations, and introductions from their personal network and receive private (one-to-one) replies, free from the noise and hassle of group texts or emails. With just a few taps, you can create a group, send a request, and view replies—all while maintaining your privacy and keeping the process simple and secure.
What is the power of Afiniii?
The people you know have valuable knowledge, insight, and relationships they’re eager to share. With Afiniii, all you have to do is ask.
Is Afiniii a group texting or chat app?
No. Afiniii is not a traditional group texting or chat app. Instead, it allows you to send individual requests to multiple people at once, but each person receives your message privately—without knowing who else was included or seeing others' replies. This ensures you get relevant, unbiased feedback simply and confidentially.
Do my contacts need to have the Afiniii app?
No. Your contacts don’t need the Afiniii app to receive or reply to your requests.
Does Afiniii cost money?
No. Afiniii is free to download and use. After receiving answers, you may be invited to leave a tip to support our platform. If Afiniii helps you, consider contributing via the in-app wallet.
Is there a limit on the number of times I can use Afiniii?
No. You can use Afiniii as often as you like. However, we encourage mindful use and respect for your contact's time. Remember our tagline: "When it's important."
Is there a limit on the number of contacts I can send a request?
No. There is no limit. For some requests, the more people you include, the higher your chances of receiving the advice, recommendation, or introduction you're looking for.
Do my contacts see each other?
No. Afiniii allows you to send questions to groups of people individually, so each person receives your message privately without knowing who else is involved or seeing others' replies.
Do my contacts see the replies I receive?
No. You are the only person who sees the replies you receive.
Does Afiniii share my contacts with other people?
No. Your contacts are not visible or shared with anyone. Please review our Privacy Policy for more details.
Does Afiniii share or sell my information to anyone?
No. We do not share or sell user contact information, requests, or reply data to anyone. Please review our Privacy Policy for more details.
Can I use the app if I do not agree to share all my contacts?
No. When prompted by the Afiniii app for permission to access your phone contacts, select "Limited Access." Then, browse your contacts and choose the individuals you might send requests to—this could be 10 or even 100+ people. When creating a group in the app, you’ll only be able to select from this shared pool of contacts. If you add a new contact to your phone, you may need to go to Settings > Apps > Afiniii > Contacts and manually select them so they appear in the app.
Was Afiniii created by or associated with a 'big tech' company?
No. Afiniii is an independent, self-funded company based in the United States and is not affiliated with any big tech or social media companies.

Can I delete my account?
Yes. You can delete your account. Go to the Profile page via the app’s sidebar menu, tap Edit, and select Delete Account. If you delete your account, you will lose access to all associated data and wallet balance. However, you can open a new account using the same email address and phone number. Please note that signing up for a new account will not restore any data or wallet balance from your previous account.
What are Contacts?
Contacts include the records of everyone saved on your phone, from family and friends to work colleagues and service providers. This list can range from a few hundred to several thousand people, depending on your network. If you are asked to share your contacts with Afiniii, choose “All Contacts.” This will ensure that when you create groups or a Favorites list, you can see everyone in your network. Your contacts are not visible or shared with anyone.
What are Favorites?
Favorites allow you to create a sub-list of your close friends and allies from your phone’s contacts, making it easier to form groups by selecting from a smaller, more familiar pool of individuals. For example, someone might have 350 contacts on their phone but only 150 in their Favorites list. When creating a new group, the app will prompt you to choose whether to make the group from your full Contacts list or your smaller Favorites list.
What is a Group?
The first step in using the app is creating a group. A group is a subset of your Contacts or Favorites lists that you make to send a request to. You can create as many groups as you like, and each group can contain as many contacts as you choose. For example, you might have a group of 50 local contacts, a separate group of 30 national contacts, and a third group of all contacts. After writing a request, you can select which group (or groups) you want to send it to. Groups can be created, edited, or deleted at any time.
Should I be selective as to who is in each Group?
Not necessarily. The power of Afiniii lies in the fact that while you know your friends, you may not know who they know, what they know, or where they've been. For some questions, it's better to cast a wide net. With a larger group of people ready to help, someone will likely respond with the knowledge, insight, and relationships you're looking for. For example, your college roommate, who is a social worker, might have a cousin who works in HR at the company you're interviewing with.
What is a Request?
A request is a question, often related to advice, a recommendation, or an introduction you're seeking. In just a few minutes, you can draft a request, select a group, and send your message. Within minutes, you'll begin receiving replies. Depending on how many people you send your request to, it's highly likely that someone will respond with the knowledge, insight, and relationships you're looking for.
What is an Introduction message?
If you are sending a request to a group and some members have never received an Afiniii request from you, you will be asked if you’d like to send an introduction message before sending your request. This helps give your contacts a heads-up, reducing the chances of your request being ignored or mistaken for spam.

Please note that Introduction messages are sent from your personal phone number. As such, you will need to send them one at a time. You will only need to do this once per contact (ever). For example, if you have 20 contacts, you must press 'send' 20 times, once for each introduction text. After that, request messages can be sent to one or even tens of contacts with just a single button press.

What are the best days and times to send requests?
Best Days to Text: Midweek (Tuesday – Thursday): People are settled into their week but not overwhelmed like on Mondays or checked out like on Fridays.

Best Times to Text: Morning (8 AM – 10 AM): People are checking their phones but not yet deep into work.
Lunchtime (12 PM – 1 PM): A natural break where they might check messages.
Evening (7 PM – 9 PM): After work and dinner, but before bedtime.
What is a Reply?
Replies are the individual responses to your request, organized by subject and presented within a summary card in the app. The card displays how many contacts received your request and how many responded. After receiving a reply, you’ll be asked to privately rate its helpfulness and invited to send a default or custom text response. Rating and responding to replies is easy and efficient, ensuring the most useful answers appear at the top.
What is the Wallet?
The wallet holds funds for tipping within the app. You can add money in advance and tip from your balance or tip on the fly without a wallet balance. Tips help Afiniii cover the costs of running the service but are not given to request responders. Using the wallet and tipping are entirely optional.
What is the $5 Bonus Offer?
As a new user, if you add money to your in-app Wallet at any time, we’ll add an extra $5 to your balance. The bonus will appear after the transaction is complete.

What are Defaults?
We've included a default reply for each star in our three-star rating scale to streamline replies to request responses. You can use our pre-written messages or customize and save your own for added convenience. Reply ratings are entirely private and designed to help you triage responses. The goal is to make it easy to identify the most actionable replies, which will automatically sort to the top of the list.
What is the Archive?
Individual requests automatically close after 24 hours. At that point, you can delete or archive the request and its corresponding replies. Archived requests can be restored or deleted at any time.
